The Art Institute’s department of Applied Arts of Europe holds 9000 objects spanning from 1100 to 1945. To better understand where these works of art came from and AIC asked us to make a video that would show Europe’s expansion from 1600-1900. Researching map data and working with a historian, we highlighted the trade routes, and territory boarders that reshaped the world.
